Speaker Proposals Wanted for AcceleRISE 2020

AcceleRISE is an essential experience for tomorrow’s security leaders that’s different from your standard conference. It’s even a bit weird! And we’re looking for fresh ideas and speakers for this year’s event.

Do you have something unique to offer young security professionals? Submit a proposal for AcceleRISE. We’re looking for blended learning sessions, including a mix of keynotes, panel sessions, team-building exercises, peer networking activities and workshops.

Friday, April 10

HOW TO SUBMIT A PROPOSAL

Proposals must include the following information:

  • Topic description (up to 200 words)
  • Speaker(s) (name, title, organization)
  • Date and name of the event or conference where the session was previously presented, if applicable

The call for proposals is open to SIA members and non-members. Not sure if your company is a member? Check the SIA membership directory, or contact Membership Director Kevin Murphy to join today.

PROGRAM TOPICS

The AcceleRISE program includes these key topics; priority will be given to proposals that address one or more of the following:

  • Corporate social responsibility – what it is, how to implement it at work and how it benefits companies and people
  • Cybersecurity – the risks and threats, IoT and big data and how they impact our industry and our personal lives
  • Career progression – tips for getting recognized by your boss, earning a raise and career paths in the security industry
  • Business management and leadership – tips for new managers, management vs. leadership and project management skills
  • Security 101 – fundamentals of the industry ecosystem, access control, video surveillance, networks and artificial intelligence
  • Finance – P&L statements and how to build a business case with numbers
  • Sales and marketing – tips and tricks for making the sale, marketing and social media
  • Networking – how to interview, be interviewed and grow your personal brand
  • Artificial intelligence and future security technology
  • SaaS models

Proposed content topics must be vendor-neutral and educational in nature, designed to contribute to the general knowledge base of the security industry.

FORMAT

Assume an estimated presentation time of 45-50 minutes.

PROPOSAL REVIEW PROCESS

SIA team members and subject matter experts will review proposals and notify you by Friday, April 17, regarding your proposal. SIA may elect to adjust your proposal.

PRESENTER RESPONSIBILITIES

If your proposal is selected, each presenter will be expected to:

  • Provide a short biography (100 words) and headshot  to be used for promotional purposes
  • Develop a compelling slide presentation to be used for the visual component of the conference
  • Participate in at least two prep calls with SIA staff
  • Help promote AcceleRISE
  • Present exceptional content at the live event!

SIA’S RESPONSIBILITIES

SIA will be responsible for:

  • Providing the technology and infrastructure to advertise the webinar, handle registration and produce the event
  • Promoting the conference to SIA members and industry channel partners
  • Scheduling prep calls and making sure the content is pertinent to the audience
